gaming update
Aug. 31st, 2002 12:01 pmA couple friends of mine regularly get together (using gamevoice) and play Warcraft III. I'm not very good but it's still pretty fun. I started out playing Orc only but then switched to Random. As my play history suggests, I'm still better at Orc. A few games have been decided by network lossage (either for or against us), but the vast majority of those games were decided on the field of battle.
I've also been playing Battlefield 1942's multiplayer demo. It's a first person shooter with extensive vehicle support. The 'Conquest' game (the only one supported in the demo) pits the Axis vs the Allies in a battle to control 'spawn points' (flags) which both determine where players can respawn for each team as well as scoring. It's fun and very different from Warcraft III.
