I have every photo I've shot for the last four years on my PC. The prior years of shooting on film are unavailable aside from maybe a hundred scans. I have the negatives and prints (or slides, where applicable) in the closet. Shooting digitally also vastly increased the rate at which I shoot frames.
So when I get the impulse to assemble a collage of details from photos I've shot of, say, things in flight, it's much, much easier for me to skim over the raw output of the digital shots and then use them that it would have been for me to do the same thing with the film shots.
